Okay...

So it's been a little while since I posted. Sorry friends! My camera and computer have not been getting along. For some reason my computer did not want to recognize new photos from my camera, and it's just no fun to post without pictures. Well I finally got it working this morning. Hooray! So this will be one wicked-long post, but it'll do the trick.
My little-big brother Taylor graduated... so weird. The best part of that evening would have been when 5 senior boys let mice loose from hidden tennis ball containers duct taped to their legs. Caused quite a commotion, and if anyone out there in the void had Mr Eddington as a principal, you all know that if he is speaking and anyone in the audience is making any kind of noise, he will wait until it's quiet again. So THAT was fun... Made the 3 hour ceremony a bit longer, but it was quite worth it. :) Unfortunately, my photos were so zoomed in to get Taylor that they came out blurry. I should be getting a few from my Dad here soon so I'll post them when I do. But I did get a few of us at Sonic after eating ice cream... at 1030 at night...
There are a few photos on here from a Father's Day activity my sisters Achievement Days group did. It was on a Monday night, so I went up to Brigham to watch the Bachelorette (IS ANYONE WATCHING THIS??? DOES ANYONE ELSE THINK IT WILL BE ED???) with my Mom. It was so fun. I got a few pictures of a shaving contest they did. My Dad had to go back to work shorty before this contest, so Ethan stood in. What a brave soul. They were covered in a trash bag, then the girls put "shaving cream" (whipped cream) and used a "razor" (popsicle stick) to see who could shave their Dad the fastest. One dad had a full on beard... poor guy. haha.

I've also got a few pictures on here from a car show we went to with Matt's parents, Ash, Dave, Steve, Sharifa and little Ethan. On this little outing we discovered that Easy E can "crunk it" as we walked past a tattoo parlor that had rap music playing. It was the cutest and most hilarious thing I have ever seen. I don't think the pictures I have do it justice.
Ethan loves my sunglasses for some reason. Crunk It!
It was Matt's 23rd birthday a few weeks ago, and we were both lucky enough to get the day off. It was nice to have a day off that wasn't Sunday! We planned to go golfing, go to lunch, then swim and I'd make one of his favorites for dinner... lasagna. (In 95 degree weather.) Unfortunately, we got rained out so swimming and golf didn't exactly work out. But we had the day to shop, watch movies, and just do whatever we wanted. It was a nice change of pace, and I think he had a great day. Thanks to everyone who thought of him, sent presents and wished him Happy Birthday. This is a photo of Matt playing on the Les Schwab Softball team. Probably his favorite part of working there.
Anywho... as far as an update on us goes... we are looking into buying a condo in the North Ogden area. There are just too many killer deals right now, and we know we'll be here while Matt does school, so it seemed like a no brainer. Matt has applied for school and we're waiting to hear back from them. We're also waiting on the VA to tell us when we're good to go with the GI Bill. Meanwhile... the semester's coming up. So. Hopefully Matt can start this September. We're getting anxious and very tired of waiting. Speaking of waiting... the new opening song on our blog came from one of the best, saddest episodes of Greys Anatomy. Is anyone else as obsessed as we are? We are ANXIOUSLY waiting for Season 5 to come out so we can get it on Neflix ASAP. We are a bit obsessed, I will admit.
Also, we have officially began finding Rufus a new home. We have asked everyone we can think of, but have resorted to posting photos on different websites to find him a home instead. We're sad we have to let him go, but it's time. But other than that, things have been great. A bit stressful, but great. We were called to be in the Nursery and so far that has been an adventure but I love it. I attempted counting, but they run so fast! I got somewhere right around 20 kids. So that should be fun. Well, I hope all is well with all of you!

Memorial Day Extravaganza!

Over the weekend we had the chance to go camping with the camping bunch. It was our first time going camping since we got married, and we had a great time. It was so fun to see everyone and it was a nice little getaway. Even if it rained all weekend and we froze just a little. It was really fun for me to see Matt and Chad & Cindi's son Cooper, play together. Matt had a great time shooting bb guns and teaching Cooper to pick up the biggest rocks to throw in the creek. It was fun.
We both took Tuesday off so we could stay the night in Salt Lake Monday night. We went to Terminator Salvation -which was actually pretty cool, I have to admit. Then Tuesday we went to the new Joseph Smith movie, ate at the Garden and went to... IKEA! My fave! I dragged poor Matt all over that place, poor guy. He was exhausted. It was a nice little trip, and we were both grateful for the break.
Tonight we attended my little-big brothers Seminary graduation. I can't believe he graduates next week! It's so crazy to me.
Anywho... hope all is going well for all of you, and enjoy the pics!

Spring Clean Up

Hello World!
It must be the weather, I don't know what it is, but Matt and I have been cleaning and organizing and doing projects like you would not believe. Matt is working on a model car, and I'm working on starting up a scrapbook for us. We've been working on a bunch of things, and when we get some finished I'll be sure to post some pictures.
Well, it's been a month and we still haven't heard back on the jobs on the bases Matt's applied for. We've been reassured that just because he hasn't heard anything yet, doesn't mean he didn't get the job. I guess they're going to hire the supervisors first, then the actual officers. So we'll see what happens with that.
Hope is well with all of you!
This is one of the biggest projects we have undertaken so far. I guess it's not as cool in photo form as it is in person. Basically it's just a bunch of Matt's awards from the Marines, his plaque the guys gave him and some pictures. Also there is a wooden case for all his military medals I asked Mike to make as a suprise to Matt. It turned out so great, Mike did a fabulous job and Matt was thrilled. Thanks again, Mike!

And this would be one of Matt's many obnoxious poses for photos :) Why can't he just smile?? Anyway, this is at the Monsters vs Aliens 3d movie (which explains the Erkle-esque shades) ....which he wore as sunglasses the next day to see if anyone would say anything. hahaha. Now you know why I love him :)

Not encouraging....

I saw this on Brandy's page and had to try it. Let's just say we will not be procreating anytime soon.... And according to this site, our babies will be manish!
PS - One of these was SUPPOSED to be a girl!

Heat Wave...

We had a heat wave over the weekend, highs of 60 degrees! We were thrilled (It has been raining since, and will be for the next week or so). The warm weather must have put us in the summer mood because for some reason or another we ended up in the sunglasses section at Wal Mart. Here are some pictures of Matt posing his favorites. Which probably isn't as entertaining to all of you as it is to me, but Enjoy!

Funny how things work... or not.

I went to my parents house this afternoon... and before I ever got in the house Ryann met me at my car. She had obviously been crying and she said Bandit had been hit by a car. They were rushing him off to the vet, but he didn't make it. We held a funeral for him in the back yard. It was really sad. My poor sis... She was really upset.
She made me promise that if we need to find Rufus a new home he could come live with her, so of course I agreed. I just didn't think it would happen that way...

Rufus...

Anyone looking to adopt a cat?
Since we have discovered the last 2 months or so ago that I am allergic to Rufus, he has been locked out of our bedroom. I'm pretty sure everyone that reads this blog knows that we live in a err...."cozy" (that's what the nice word for tiny is right?) one bedroom apartment. So he's pretty limited on space right now. If you read my last post, you know that Rufus chewed up our laptop's power cord a little over a week ago. Well, he did us one better on Saturday.
We were both gone all day, Matt was at work, and I went to a baby shower during the day and at night we went to a wedding reception. I checked in on him and fed him and played with him before I had to go, but...! When Matt went home to shower and change for the reception, he discovered the little hellion chewed through those A/V chords that connected our DVD player to our TV, and also the Hi Def chords to the XBOX. On top of that... he climbed into one of our lower cupboards and chewed up the chord to my griddle. DANG CAT!
On one hand I am so fed up replacing everything and trying new ways to lock him out of things, but on the other I feel so bad that he's so unhappy! He has no place to play, and didn't do this until we started locking him out. We're trying a few last resorts, like moth balls, (thanks for that suggestion Steve! Rufus HATES the smell so far.) but if he chews up anything else, we've decided we need to find him a new home. He's getting pretty dang expensive!! We're looking to upgrade our apartment or possibly buy a small house when our lease comes due, but that's not for 5 more months. So we're thinking maybe we could find him a temporary home... we'll see what happens.
Matt still hasn't heard anything about the job on Hill, but Captain Snee told him it would take a while anyway. And with our experience with the government, we know that's true... So hopefully we'll be hearing some good news here in the next few weeks.
