Our Little Male Model

While Matt and I scratch our heads and try to figure out how our baby could possibly be one month old today (?!?) please enjoy these pictures of the little man himself.

Nursery

I know I'm a little slow, but better late than never, right? Here are some pictures of Beckett's room. It was a collaborative effort, but I think we're both equally thrilled with how it turned out.

This is a close up of the dresser Mike made for Beckett. We love how it turned out, and we love the baseball knobs!

Matt did this, which I thought was cute. (Yes, we know he can't sleep in it this way! But I thought it was cute that he put all Beckett's little buddies in his crib to hang out and wait for him to be born

Okay, okay we'll share him!

This will most likely be a short post word wise, but no one really wants to listen to me blather on anyway, right? No! So, I will cut to the good stuff - pictures of our little hunk! At 3 weeks old, Beckett likes to:

melt our hearts... make us laugh...

sleep all day,

so he can party all night... play with his Daddy... sleep like his Mommy...and pretty much just look cute all around.

We are loving our life getting to know Beckett, and figuring out this whole parenting thing. He definitely keeps us busy and on our toes, but we are loving every second of it. But neither of us can believe he's already 3 weeks old! Time is flying by so fast, and he changes every day. This picture is from my first Mother's day. When we first snapped these pictures I thought they were pretty cute, but as I have looked back over them, man we look tired! haha. As far as Beckett's stats go, he was born on the small side, but he was back to his birth weight by the time he was a week old. At his 2 week appointment last week, Beckett weighed in at 6 pounds, 5 ounces (5th percentile), and they measured him at 20 inches long (25th percentile). We are so happy to have him as part of our family and can't wait to watch him learn and grow.

PS - yes I know this post is edited weird. I tried my best to get all these stupid spaces out, but they keep adding themselves back in there. Sorry!

Beckett Arrives

I have so much to blog about, and I've fallen so far behind, but now I have a good excuse to be behind. Before I sit down to catch up on any of the old things I need to post (giant belly photos, and pictures of our finished nursery), I thought I would introduce our little studmuffin first and try to get a few pics out to our friends and fam that haven't been able to see him yet.
This is Beckett Matthew Phillips. He was born Tuesday night at 11:52, and weighed 5 lbs, 13 oz, and is 18 1/2 inches long. He is definitely his father's son, and so far the only thing it looks like he inherited from me is his super long toes and feet. Poor little guy, haha. However, he did get his dad's curly hair, the Phillip's nose, and of course, his dad's butt chin, which we love. We are so excited, and I probably will fall even further behind with the blogging now that he's here, but I'll try to keep up on it a little better so we can share the little man's cuteness with the world :)

Sneak peak

Okay, so Amber (our fab photographer) just put up these photos on her Facebook last night, and I had to post them on here because I'm about to implode! I'm so excited! So here they are... check out how huge I am!

Taduh! What do you think? I love them, but the last one is my absolute FAVE!!! I have been trying not to call her ever since our session and it is getting harder and harder to be patient because I know they will be great (and it would be nice to see myself looking cute! haha)
More to come!

Still here... I promise...

I have had a few more appointments since I posted last, (I think 3?) but since the little guy hasn't been ultra cooperative, I don't have any more cute pics to share. However, from our appointment this past week, I can tell you: a, the little guy weighs just over 4 pounds b, he is about 17 inches long (long and skinny - just like his dad!) and c, he has all 10 fingers and toes. The only pictures we've gotten lately are of his hands and feet on the ultrasound a few weeks ago, and a few of his heart and spine from our most recent ultrasound, but that is a.o.k. with me since we found out everything is still looking great, and he's growing like he should.
I can't believe we are finally coming into the last stretch of pregnancy! When I first got pregnant I kept telling myself "We have loads of time! Once we hit 30 weeks - then we're allowed to panic." What the heck was I thinking??? 30 weeks has come and gone (I'm just over 32 now) and I feel like I am left in the dust. Time has flown/dragged by at a weird speed and now I'm just trying to convince myself we're ready for this little kidlet to be born.
Even though I don't have a new picture, the ones we do have are just too cute not to share again, haha.
I'm not biased at all, right? Well it beats pictures of me and my flab any day. But I will have a new post with a few of those soon. Matt has been documenting my ever expanding belly for me, and I was even able to talk him in to getting some maternity photos/family photos before the baby's born last week. I'm just waiting for the proofs now, and I literally cannot wait to get them back! It's all I've been talking about. Our photographer, Amber (the same one who did our wedding, bridals, family photos, everything so I've probably talked about her before) is so talented, and she really took her time. I cannot wait to see what she came away with. Plus it was nice to feel cute for an hour or two!
Anywho - life sure has been crazy around here the last little while, but we can't wait for it to get even crazier once the little guy comes! I promise to post more soon!

From this preggo's kitchen to yours...

We tried a new experiment at our house this weekend. Chocolate cupcakes with caramel icing, and a Caramello square inside. YUM.
