Yellowstone

We decided to venture up to Island Park with my parents and the camping bunch for the 4th of July holiday this year. It's something they do every year, but we've never gone with them and for some reason we were crazy enough to agree to take our 2 month old along and go up for the first time. And we're sure glad we did! Beckett decided to put himself on a schedule literally the day before we left. I was so worried about him keeping everyone up at night, especially since we were staying in my parents' trailer with my parents and 2 siblings, but it ended up working out amazingly! Beckett was an absolute angel for the trip, and I'm sure he loved all the attention from his Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle and Aunt, and anyone else who could get their hands on him haha. Here are a few pics from our travels:My Mom had the genius idea to get a pack and play before the trip. This is where Beckett slept at night and played during the day during the brief intervals he was not being held and adored haha. As you can see, the mobile was a success. Beckett and Grandpa - I love this picture! He's so conked out.My Boys - yes this shirt was a purchase meant for Yellowstone. It was worth it. So cute!Like I said, Beckett was an angel for our trip. Even the day we drove through Yellowstone all day, he mostly did this. Matt's parents took us to dinner for his birthday, and our waiter made Matt wear this lovely sombrero while he enjoyed his free dessert. It was hi-larious.

Blessing week

This is us on Beckett's blessing day. I found the cutest matching ties for Matt and Beckett, and I love how the pictures turned out. I wish I would have gotten a few of just Beckett, and a few of just him and his Dad, but it was cold out, and Beckett had had enough of the picture taking. Matt gave him a great blessing though, and it was such a special day. Even though there was craziness surrounding the lunch for 50 people at our tiny house, I think it's a day we'll both remember forever.

During the days after Beckett's blessing, we were lucky enough to hang out with some of Beckett's ourt of state cousins. We went swimming and had a BBQ for Sadie's b-day, and we had a great time catching up and spending time with all of Matt's siblings together. Matt and Sadie at the pool. I hope the kiddos had as much fun with Matt as he had playing with them!
I wish I had gotten a better picture of Beckett's suit! Obviously he didn't get in the water, actually he slept through the whole outing, but his little froggy full body swim suit was the best!

Matt and a few of the other kids at the BBQ. I thought I got a picture with Beckett and his cousin Jackson, but I guess not.

Catching up...

It has been a crazy few weeks around here, but it seems like I'm always saying that. In the last few weeks, we have had Beckett's Blessing, had tons of fun with some of our favorite out of state visitors, spent an extra long weekend in Yellowstone with some of our other favorite people, celebrated Matt's 25th birthday, and had Beckett's 2 month check up. Like I said, it's been a crazy few weeks, but I'm going to try and blog about all of it since I have about a zillion cute pictures of Beckett and as a Mom it is my duty to show them off, right? That's what I thought. Here's an update on the little man: At his 2 week appointment, Beckett weighed 6 lbs 5 oz, which was in the 5th percentile, but at his 2 month check up a few weeks ago, he weighed 11 lbs 12 oz, which is in the 55th percentile so he is doing awesome. He also finally decided that staying up all night was old news, and is now on a (fairly) more predictable schedule which includes sleeping in his crib in his room at night, and I have to say we are definitely all sleeping better. Hallelujiah! I was afraid there for a while he'd be sleeping in our room until he was 5. He still sleeps a lot better when he's in with us, but we're making great progress and he seems much happier during the days now that he's on a schedule. He makes us laugh every day with his funny faces and we live for his smiles. I just wish I could catch one on camera!

Here are all my latest attempts:

This last one is my absolute fave. His new thing is that he doesn't like to be cuddled unless he is trying to fall asleep. At all other times of day, he wants to sit up and see the world, which is why he is on my lap in this picture.
